2015 saw the launch of the Allsop Online Auction – a unique online platform that provides a secure, fully transparent bidding process concluding in a legally binding sale. Buyers who might not be familiar with bidding in an auction room will feel very comfortable in the online buying space where they can bid on property from the comfort of their own home or office – anywhere in the world.
In a ground breaking first, the entire property transaction process is performed digitally, 'from Catalogue to Contract'. Each bidder provides a deposit on a credit card in order to bid and contracts are signed and emailed to the buyers on the day of the auction. EY have been retained to provide independent security testing and process reviews.
Over 3,000 bidders registered for our Online Auctions in 2016, resulting in the sale of over 600 properties. More than €100m was spent with 70% of buyers local to the property that was purchased. The range of properties that has so far been sold using the online platform – from income-producing commercial assets to three bedroom family homes – is proof that moving the property transaction process online is a welcome innovation.
